Keen to improve on perfection, my husband and I have enrolled in a new couples counselling programme called Ours and are meeting our “guide” over Zoom. Stephanie is a licensed mental health counsellor and art therapist based in Palm Harbor, Florida.
We’ve already separately answered 16 questions online about our relationship, so at this point Stephanie knows more about us than we do. She’s chatty and fun, but focused. When Phil checks his phone she says: “All right, so what about you, Phil, what you got for me?” Bizarrely, he describes us as “colleagues”. I laugh, and overexplain. Thank God this isn’t psychoanalysis.
