Barcelona have a major helping hand when it comes to Messi return

Barcelona still haven’t given up on one day bringing Lionel Messi back to the club. And, now, it’s emerged they have a major helping hand in the form of the Argentina international’s family. They feel the city is their home, despite spending the last year or so living in Paris, and that gives the La Liga giants reason to dream as they plot a blockbuster move at the end of the campaign.Barcelona were expected to renew Messi’s contract last summer. However, with the La Liga giants facing financial difficulties at the time, they had no choice but to let the veteran leave the Nou Camp on a free transfer.Messi then proceeded to join PSG and, since then, has flourished at the Parc des Princes alongside fellow superstars such as Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. However, Barcelona are hoping to bring the 35-year-old back to the Nou Camp when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season.Messi is primed to become a free agent then, though PSG are still hopeful of tying their No 30 down to a new contract.Want the latest football news? At least that is the dream.’And when Xavi was recently quizzed on Messi returning, he said: “With Leo, let’s see, but it’s not the moment to talk about it right now.”You know the love I have for him. He is a friend and I will always wish him the best. Barca is his home, but we’re not doing him any favours speaking about [his future], either.”Let’s leave him in peace to enjoy his time in Paris and wish him all the best.”
