Jurgen Klopp’s honest reaction to Liverpool’s Leeds defeat speaks volumes

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are in danger of missing out on Champions League football next term after recording a fourth Premier League defeat of the season on Saturday

Liverpool suffered another dismal Premier League result on Saturday, as they lost 2-1 to relegation candidates Leeds at Anfield.

Jesse Marsch’s side took the lead at Anfield when a mix up between Joe Gomez and Alisson allowed Rodrigo to score the easiest of goals. Mohamed Salah equalised for the hosts before a last-minute winner from Crysencio Summerville snatched the points.

The result leaves Liverpool 13 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City. Arsenal will open a 15-point gap on the Jurgen Klopp’s side if they beat Nottingham Forest at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon. Here are the main headlines from Anfield.

Reacting to Saturday’s surprise defeat, Klopp told Sky Sports: “It was a set-back, absolutely. I thought we had a really good start then conceded a freakish goal. We scored the equaliser but for some reason it didn’t give us the security back.
