MILLIONS of tea lovers do not know where their favourite brew comes from, a poll shows.
Almost a quarter (23 per cent) think it is grown here – although most tea drunk in the UK is from Kenya.
A third (32 per cent) do not know tea comes from the plant’s leaves.
Some 42 per cent sip a cuppa to destress and 24 per cent to help manage weight, the Tea Advisory Panel’s poll shows.
The survey of 1,047 adults reviewed by the Tea Advisory Panel – TAP is part of a new health campaign called ‘Take 5’.
