SIMON Cowell reckons his latest music project StemDrop could be a “missing link” for aspiring stars.
The platform allows users to create their own versions of tracks by renowned hit makers on TikTok.
The first track released on StemDrop is Red Lights by Swedish songwriting icon Max Martin – the man behind hits including Britney’s Oops!…I Did It Again and Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off.
And since its release on October 19, “stems” of the song – such as the bass, piano and lyrics – have been shared by more than two billion people.
Simon, who has been working on the project for two years, said: “I’ve always believed songs are the most important part of an artist’s career and this – the opportunity to collaborate with a successful songwriter – could be the missing link.
