Matt Taylor: Scotland were always fitter but Australia have sorted that

This is the first time in a decade that Scotland have faced Australia without Matt Taylor having a foot in either camp.

Having spent 7½ years as defence coach under Andy Robinson, Scott Johnson, Vern Cotter and Gregor Townsend, the Brisbane-born 50-year-old with Fife roots had almost three years in the same role with the Wallabies before stepping down for personal reasons in August.

Taylor will watch the game on television from Tokyo, where he has just started a new job overseeing defence at the Black Rams, whose Japanese Rugby League One season begins in early December.
