A drink-driver who crashed his car four times within minutes has avoided jail.
Peter Fleet, 38, was around four times over the alcohol limit as he crashed a Peugeot 206 into temporary traffic lights, a metal barrier and then twice into a ditch in Rhymney, Caerphilly, South Wales.
A motorist saw him driving ‘quicker than others around him’ and swerving across the road at around 11.30pm on February 2, Newport Magistrates’ Court heard.
Prosecutor Rob Simkins told the court witnesses said he appeared ‘very drunk indeed’ when he got out of his car and after police attended he ‘promptly fell over’.
Fleet, of St George’s Court in Tredegar, admitted drink-driving and driving while disqualified.
