MAJOR retailers are hiking wages to help workers as the cost of living continues to soar.
Aldi is the latest shop to announce a pay rise for staff, increasing the hourly rate to £11 for store assistants.
The new wage will come in from January 1, 2023 and will apply to around 26,000 staff at the discounter.
The supermarket joins the growing list of shops boosting hourly rates, which also includes Currys, Lidl, Marks & Spencer, and more.
Some companies are also dishing out extra cash bonuses to help cover the rising cost of living.
