A man has been jailed following the ‘savage’ murder of 86-year-old Freda Walker in her own home.
The pensioner was beaten, gagged and tied up by Vasile Culea on January 15 in Langwith Junction, Derbyshire.
Her husband, 88-year-old Kenneth Walker, was badly injured in the horrific incident.
Culea was today sentenced to life in jail, with a minimum term of 34 years.
Judge Mr Justice Henshaw, sentencing, said: ‘You attacked them both leaving them with brain injuries, lacerations and many other injuries.
