Prince Harry’s memoir ‘going to be pretty desperate’

Prince Harry’s memoir is going to be “pretty desperate,” according to one royal expert. On Thursday it was revealed that Harry’s long-awaited book, titled ‘Spare,’ will finally be released to the world on January 10. The news was met with a backlash in the UK, with Sunrise’s royal editor Robert Jobson joking that the memoir should be titled ‘Despair,’ instead of ‘Spare’.Speaking to Australia’s Sunrise programme, Mr Jobson discussed the title, which is a reference to the phrase “the heir and the spare”.He said: “It seems he has got a bit of a chip on his shoulder about it.”I’m surprised it is the title. Maybe he should call it ‘Despair’ instead.”It sounds like it’s going to be pretty desperate.”JUST IN: Prince Harry ‘full of resentment’ as expert attacks new book title Prince Harry’s memoir is going to be ‘pretty desperate,’ according to one royal expert (Image: SUNRISE) Robert Jobson joked that the memoir should be titled ‘Despair,’ instead of ‘Spare’ (Image: GETTY)Mr Jobson remarked that the release date, just a couple of weeks after Christmas, will loom over the Royal Family as they approach the holiday season. He said: “It’s not getting great traction over here.”A lot of people think it will be a huge mistake from Harry but he is going ahead with it.”So I don’t think it will make for a good Christmas for the Royal Family.” Jobson remarked that the release date, just a couple of weeks after Christmas (Image: SUNRISE)The former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond echoed Mr Jobson. She told the BBC this morning that the memoir will only exacerbate tensions between Harry and the Royal Family.Ms Bond said the book “can do nothing to heal the rift, particularly between Harry and his brother”.Publisher Penguin Random House said the book will detail with “raw unflinching honesty” his journey from “trauma to healing”, adding: “For Harry, this is his story at last”.DON’T MISS:Charles and William ‘get on with it’ rather than complain like Harry [INTERVIEW]’Harry’s book will set back any reconciliation chances’ [COMMENT]Coffey signals U-turn after hinting at Charles’ COP27 attendance [VIDEO] Jennie Bond said the memoir will only exacerbate tensions between Harry and the Royal Family (Image: GETTY)Harry’s former biographer Angela Levin said the Duke of Sussex now has the “freedom” he craved but that he is still “full of resentment” for the Royal Family. She tweeted: “Spare, the title of Harry’s book is desperately sad.”Is that what he still thinks of himself?”After all the therapy, a wife he worships and freedom he longed for, he is still full of resentment and out to get his own back.”You can see it in his eyes on the cover.”READ NEXT:’Harry’s book will set back any reconciliation chances’Prince Harry memoir release threatens to overshadow Kate’s big dayCharles and William ‘get on with it’ rather than complain like HarryMeghan Markle ‘pushing back’ against ‘Duchess Difficult’ label’Oof’ – Jennie Bond in damning reaction to Prince Harry’s memoir title
