Alejandro Garnacho has become the latest figure at Manchester United to be compared to Cristiano Ronaldo in the wake of his impressive showing against Sheriff on Thursday night. The 18-year-old mesmerised the Old Trafford crowd on his first start for the club, providing Erik ten Hag with food for thought in the process. And, now, he’s followed in the footsteps of the likes of Memphis Depay and Angel Di Maria in being compared to their current No 7.Garnacho was unleashed from the start for United against Sheriff, coming into the team at the expense of Jadon Sancho – who has been flat of late.And the Argentine impressed on home turf, putting in an eye-catching cameo before being substituted towards the end of the contest at Old Trafford.Speaking after the game, Scholes waxed lyrical over the teenager and compared him to a young Ronaldo.
