Manchester United legend Paul Scholes and Robbie Savage have slammed Antony for his unnecessary showboating in Thursday night’s must-win Europa League clash against FC Sheriff.

The Red Devils need three points to keep their hopes of sealing top spot – and avoiding a play-off match – alive but summer signing Antony appeared to be oblivious to the situation when he started doing tricks on the pitch with the scores tied at 0-0.
Despite United needing a goal at the time, the Brazilian – who was withdrawn at half-time – did a series of spinning drag-backs before playing an over-hit pass for Casemiro which went out of play for a goal kick.
Savage, who was on commentary duty for BT Sport, was appalled by what he saw given the state of the game at the time, branding the former Ajax man ’embarrassing’ and felt Erik ten Hag should have hauled him off.
