Ever since Yoda made his big screen debut in the 1980 film Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back, fans have pondered over a certain attribute of the character.
The legendary Jedi Master, who is said to be of an ‘unknown species’, has always had a proclivity for speaking in unique manner, reversing the order of sentences such as when he said: ‘Named must be your fear before banish it you can,’ and: ‘The greatest teacher, failure is.’
Other characters from Yoda’s species are rarely seen in Star Wars, so fans weren’t sure whether Yoda’s tendency to speak in ‘riddles’ was unique to him, or a trait shared with his kin.
However, that mystery appears to have been solved in the new Star Wars animated anthology series Tales of the Jedi, in which Bryce Dallas Howard voices Yaddle, who is also of Yoda’s species.
Following the launch of the show on Disney Plus on Wednesday October 26, a clip has circulated on social media showing Yaddle speaking, where she says: ‘No, I do not, but the wisdom of the council is to be cautious until we know more.’
