'White Lives Matter' was written in bold white letters on the back of the shirt, a response to the Black Lives Matter movement which was started in 2013 following the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin. The Anti-Defamation League has previously called the phrase 'White Lives Matter' a hate slogan. He wore the controversial shirt at Paris Fashion Week ( Kanye West) Kanye was criticised by the likes of Jaden Smith, Vogue fashion editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson and Gigi Hadid for wearing the shirt. "It didn't land and it was deeply offensive, violent, and dangerous," Gabriella, who was in attendance at the show, wrote in a series of posts on her Instagram Stories.
