Liang Wenbo has been suspended from the professional snooker tour again, this time for ‘an ongoing investigation into allegations of misconduct.’
The 35-year-old was due to play Peter Lines in an English Open qualifier on the morning of Thursday 27 October, but was stopped from doing so.
The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association has now confirmed that he is suspended from all WPBSA sanctioned events while the investigation is ongoing.
The nature of the misconduct allegations has not been divulged, but they are not related to Liang’s conviction for assault earlier this year.
A statement on Thursday read: ‘The WPBSA has today suspended Liang Wenbo from attending or competing in WPBSA sanctioned events.
