Prince Harry’s choice of book title for his upcoming autobiography has sparked confusion for some and excitement for others.
The Duke of Sussex has confirmed he will release his debut memoir on January 10, 2023 – and it will be titled Spare.
It appears to be a reference to the phrase ‘heir and spare’ in regards to Prince William being next in line to take the throne over Harry, who is King Charles III and the late Princess Diana’s second-born child.
Spare promises to offer an ‘unflinching’ and ‘honest’ account of Harry’s life as a senior Royal before he quit in 2020 to live in California with wife Meghan Markle and their two children Archie and Lilibet.
It’s not a title many would have predicted Harry to choose and The View host Meghan McCain was initially perplexed by the meaning.
