Ex-kickboxer Andrew Tate emerges as unlikely ally of Tiger King Joe Exotic

Tate has risen to fame on social media in recent years due to his controversial views, which include his support of Exotic who is currently serving a 22-year prison sentence

Controversial ex-kickboxer Andrew Tate has been helping ‘Tiger King’ Joe Exotic pay his legal bills after he was imprisoned in 2020.

Tate has emerged as a social media star in recent years with his controversial views and brash persona gaining notoriety. Similarly, zookeeper Exotic – real name Joseph Maldonado Passage – gained a similar high-profile after featuring on the popular Netflix documentary ‘Tiger King’ which gripped the world during the coronavirus pandemic.

Exotic is serving a 22-year prison sentence having been found guilty of hiring two men to kill animal welfare activist Carole Baskin. He has continuously denied any wrongdoing but is facing a financially straining legal battle which is now being aided by Tate and his brother Tristan.

The brothers have raised over $1 million to help with his case since he was jailed. Tate, along with his sibling said: “Joe Exotic blew the whole world away with his kind character, loveable personality, and dedication to his animals. We went ‘Joe crazy’ but everybody forgot that at the end of ‘Tiger King’ he was behind bars. This injustice is unacceptable. We will continue to support and assist our friend, Joe in every way we can until we finally meet face to face when he’s a free man.”
