The Gunners are likely to strengthen in the January transfer window as they now try to apply as much pressure as possible on reigning champions Manchester City in an unlikely title race
Mikel Arteta has overseen a remarkable turnaround of fortune at Arsenal, with the Gunners flying high two points ahead of nearest challengers Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
After a disastrous capitulation with three games to go last term ended their hopes of Champions League qualification, many fans and pundits alike feared the worst for Arsenal and Arteta moving forward. Their fast start to the current campaign has gone some way to silencing the critics.
Their rise to the top spot has been helped largely by consistency in Arteta’s choice of starting eleven. The Gunners have, for the most part, avoided any injuries to their most important players and have been able to field the same line up that is working in perfect tandem nowadays.
Arteta has used 15 starters so far this term, with the likes of Granit Xhaka, Bukayo Saka and Ben White all being called upon every week, which in turn has sparked fears of fatigue, especially with the World Cup on the horizon.
