The company may be called White Stuff but the colour black was back in vogue yesterday as the lifestyle retailer celebrated a return to profitability.
Established in 1985, White Stuff, which has 125 shops and 55 concessions in Britain, said earnings before interest, tax and other charges had risen to £8.6 million in the 12 months to the end of April, sharply reversing a loss of £3.4 million the year before.
Total sales for the year increased by 41.8 per cent to £133.6 million, while retail sales rose by 128.4 per cent to £62.2 million.
The return to profit was principally a result of easing lockdown measures, it said, adding that strong sales in March and April had continued in the new financial year.
