A teenager who was shot by an ex-police officer while eating a hamburger in his car is still in critical condition, his family said in their first public comments since the incident.
Erik Cantu was shot by former San Antonio Police Officer James Brennand while he was eating in his car in a McDonalds parking lot on October 2.
He was hospitalized immediately after the shooting with at least four bullet wounds.
‘It’s very touch and go,’ his father Eric Cantu Sr said at a news conference on Tuesday. ‘He is getting slightly better, his wounds are healing, but the wounds that he’s endured, they are great, there’s a lot of them.’
