'We were called shortly after 4am on September 30 to support West Midlands Fire Service, who believed the fire had been started deliberately. 'We are hoping anyone who was in the area may have seen more, so anyone with further information can contact us.' Police are also investigating the Crooked House fire as potential arson. Earlier this week a 34-year-old woman and a man, 44, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson. Police are investigating after a historic pub went up in flames just miles away from the Crooked House ruins.
Fire crews raced to the Greyhound and Punchbowl, in Wolverhampton, just before 4am on Saturday.
Despite their best efforts much of the pub’s interior and parts of the outside were destroyed.
