Rangers boss Michael Beale sacked with replacement already named by board

Michael Beale has been sacked by Rangers (Image: GETTY) Rangers have confirmed they’ve terminated Michael Beale’s contract less than 12 months after he took over as the club’s head coach. Rangers have been way below par this season with three defeats from their opening seven league matches. Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Aberdeen proved to be the last straw for Rangers’ board who felt the need to act quickly. Beale’s contract has now been terminated, along with several members of the coaching staff. Rangers icon Steven Davis has been named as Beale’s replacement on an interim basis. Rangers Chairman, John Bennett, commented: ‘I’d like to thank Michael for his dedicated work since he re-joined the club as manager last November. It is clear that results have fallen well short of the board’s, Michael’s and our supporters’ expectations.
