Unsettling encounter with ‘ghost’ who ‘yelled oi and hurled stone’ at explorers

The paranormal experts were exploring an eerie cavern, called Snib’s Cave or Bennane Cave, which is 100ft long by 20ft wide and 30ft high in places inside near Lendalfoot, southwest of Glasgow, Scotland

A ghost allegedly chucked a stone at paranormal experts when they entered a cave where a hermit used to live. Tony Ferguson and Jacqueline Dixon were spooked out by the scenario.

The eerie cavern, called Snib’s Cave or Bennane Cave, is 100ft long by 20ft wide and is 30ft high in places inside. A hermit called Henry Ewing Torbet, aka Snib Scott, lived there for three decades until he died in 1983, aged 71. He is said to have only left the cave to hunt rabbits and trade his wares. Tony, 38, visited the cave near Lendalfoot, southwest of Glasgow, Scotland.

His team were also told to leave the cave by male voices. They think up to three adult ghosts were there. Tony said they also heard a child speaking in the deserted cave. He said: “We had heard that people entering the cave had experienced paranormal activity, so wanted to check this out for ourselves.

“We conducted some experiments where we held lone vigils in the caves to see if we could get different responses. A stone was thrown at one point. We heard an elderly gentleman say, ‘Oi’. We also heard what sounded like a child’s voice… all of these were captured on camera.
