Aaron Rodgers targets shock New York Jets return and play this year despite ‘season-ending injury’

New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers suffered an Achilles tendon tear which regularly takes around nine months to recover from, but perhaps not for the 39-year-old who is already without a walking boot

Aaron Rodgers is already without a walking boot and is hoping to shock the NFL world this year by returning from what should be a season-ending injury before the season wraps up.

Rodgers told NBC’s Melissa Stark before the New York Jets hosted the Kansas City Chiefs on “Sunday Night Football” that his plan is to “rejoin the team permanently after their Week 7 bye” and “his goal is to play again this season.”

The 39-year-old quarterback also mentioned he will be getting his stitches out this week and has been rehabbing five hours a day. Rodgers was spotted on the sideline during warmups for Sunday night’s game with the Chiefs using crutches and wearing an air cast. He chatted with owner Woody Johnson before catching up with Chiefs star – and Swift’s rumored boyfriend – Travis Kelce.

He surprised his teammates this week when he returned to them unannounced on Saturday, giving a speech prior to the primetime game. Multiple reports suggest that he told the team to stop pointing fingers at one another and be better teammates.
