‘Two wrongs don’t make a right.’
Due to a host of viral memes, the name Karen has become associated with someone who is opinionated, rude, and inconsiderate. Asking to speak to the manager, sticking noses into other people’s business – it all falls under the umbrella of being a Karen.
And while we all like to stick up for ourselves, and other people, no one wants to be branded a âKaren’ for getting involved unnecessarily with someone else’s matters. Imagine one American woman’s horror then when she unexpectedly found herself being called such a term.
Taking to Reddit to share her horror, she wrote: “About two weeks ago I was at the local hardware store and I heard a small commotion by the key-making machine. These two older deaf ladies were trying to give instructions to the man making the keys, and he was being a jerk.
“I walked over and asked if I could help as I know ASL. The man (employee) said he didn’t need help if he could just make out what they were saying. Now, these ladies were verbal, they could speak and were trying to read his lips. Lips that were covered by an untrimmed moustache.
