Mikel Arteta will take his Arsenal side to Bournemouth on Saturday with his side looking to make amends for dropping two points in last Sunday’s north London derby
The prospect of facing Bournemouth is likely to stir some sensational memories among Arsenal fans.
The two sides go head-to-head at the Vitality Stadium this weekend, six months after they played out a five-goal Premier League thriller. Granted that clash was at the Emirates, but it went down as one of the games of the 2022/23 campaign.
The Cherries were leading 2-0 before the Gunners fought back to level matters, and then duly took the points after a 97th minute Reiss Nelson winner. It sparked scenes of ecstatic celebrations, and for many, was perceived as the moment Arsenal’s name was etched on the Premier League title.
That notion of course, didn’t materialise. And Mikel Arteta’s men now travel to the venue where they prevailed 3-0 last August needing to bounce back after dropping points against Spurs on Sunday, otherwise their title aspirations will receive another early dent.
