Roma could join Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Tottenham in sacking Jose Mourinho following the “worst start to a season” of his illustrious career
Jose Mourinho is facing the chop at Roma in what would be the sixth sacking of his career.
Following Thursday’s humiliating 4-1 defeat to Genoa, Roma sit 16th in the Serie A table, languishing just a point above the relegation zone and boasting only one win this season. Mourinho, 60, looks to need a victory over early surprise package Frosinone on Sunday to save his job, having already labelled it the “worst start to a season” of his career which has spanned more than two decades.
But the Portuguese is no stranger to being sacked, having been given the chop in each of his two stints at Chelsea either side of getting dumped by Real Madrid. Manchester United then did the same in 2018, just over two years before Tottenham followed suit.
All of those clubs learned what working with the self-proclaimed Special One is really like – and how expensive he is to sack. Let’s take a look at how much each club forked out just to get rid of Mourinho, who’s believed to have earned over £80million in sackings.
