Users reported their vehicles suffering from a range of electrical issues, many of which kept them in the garage for over a week. Indeed, according to the research, 69% of all Cupra Formentors were in the shop for more than seven days due to technical problems. It was joined by Alfa Romeo and Vauxhall in the bottom three, with 85.6% and 86.9% respectively. Elsewhere, Mercedes, Audi and Jaguar all received sub-90% ratings. In contrast, major EV and hybrid manufacturers like Tesla and Toyota cracked the top 10. They were joined by Suzuki, Mitsubishi and Honda in a strong showing for the Japanese car industry. And some electric models excelled, including the Ford Mach E which received a 100% reliability score. Overall reliability across all powertrains was also up, with the percentage of cars going wrong within five years of registrations dropping from 27% to 21% over the past five years. Experts from What Car? said: "This year – as in 2022 – Lexus and Toyota are the leading brands for reliability, with both posting near-perfect scores. "Mini isn't far behind in third place.
