Dan Wootton sacked by major UK news website after fallout over GB News interview

GB News host Dan Wootton has reportedly been sacked by a major UK news website. It comes after a fallout over vile comments made by Laurence Fox on Wootton’s show on Tuesday evening. Fox made misogynistic comments about female journalist Ava Evans, and Wootton was quick to apologise on Fox’s behalf. But after Fox hinted Wootton ‘laughed’ after the interview, Wootton was also suspended – and has now reportedly been sackd from MailOnline, where he writes a regular column. A spokesperson for DMG Media, the parent company of MailOnline, said: ‘Following events this week, DMG Media can confirm that Dan Wootton’s freelance column with MailOnline – which had already been paused – has now been terminated, along with his contract.’
