Best-selling Irish author Maurice Leitch has reportedly died at the age of 90.
The writer and broadcaster was best known for books including Poor Lazarus and Silver’s City, which won the prestigious Whitbread Prize in the 1980s.
He also worked as a producer in the BBC’s radio drama department during his career.
His death was reported by The Irish Times, although no details were given.
