Ralf Rangnick was never in charge during a transfer window during his short time as Manchester United boss but still recommended a host of talented players, who have since been on the move
Former Manchester United target Benjamin Sesko has revealed he rejected a move to Old Trafford due to the Red Devils’ “style”.
The striker was a target for United under the tutelage of German coach Ralf Rangnick. The former Red Bull Leipzig man recommended the forward to the club’s recruitment team during his stint as caretaker.
Whilst not naming the striker specifically, he said previously: “There might be a couple of players – and I have already named those players to the board – that independent from formation, from style of football, and independent from a new manager, that could be of interest for a club like United.”
Sesko eventually sealed a big-money move as Red Bull Salzburg confirmed his departure for £55m. It wasn’t Man United making a move for him though, as Leipzig swooped for his services instead earlier this summer.
