Brit dog rapist hid in plain sight with TV appearances as wife met Prince Harry

Adam Britton, 51, who is based in Darwin, Australia, began his ‘sadistic’ rampage in 2014 and tortured and sexually exploited more than 39 dogs until his arrest in April 2022

Twisted British dog rapist Adam Britton hid in plain sight with TV appearances, working with the BBC, hosting David Attenborough and running a blog – whilst his wife even met Prince Harry.

The 51-year-old crocodile expert spent eight years carrying out vile attacks on dogs. He did this behind his wife’s back, filmed the unspeakable abuse and then shared it online. Thirty-nine animals died at his hands. Despite his horrific crimes, Britton lived a life publicly, sometimes appearing on television to discuss his area of expertise – crocodiles. He even hosted David Attenborough in his own home whilst his wife met royalty. On his website, Britton boasted about running “the popular website crocodillian.com” along with a business with his wife. For a time he even ran a podcast series about crocodiles too.

Meanwhile, he secretly conducted a depraved campaign of abuse against dogs. He would post pictures of his two dogs, Ursa and Bolt, who he regularly abused, on his Flickr accounts. The album he shared the pictures of them in was hauntingly labelled “just a reminder of the best bits of home”. He invited Sir David Attenborough into his home when he filmed a bit of the BBC documentary ‘Life in Cold Blood’. In a blog post in 2016, Adam reminisced over the meeting. He described how Sir Attenborough had been one of three people who’d inspired him to become a zoologist and how he was “transfixed” as a seven-year-old watching Life on Earth.

Following this, he wrote: “In October 2006, a little under 27 years later, my wife Erin and I got to work with David for a whole week. I can only imagine what 7 year old me would have thought of this! Don’t they say you should never meet your heroes, and he were about to spend a whole week with ours (Erin, of course, viewed David in a similar light). I had been somewhat instrumental in arranging this because I was being employed by the BBC Natural History Unit as one of their Scientific Advisers for their new series Life in Cold Blood.”
