Manchester now has a little-known rooftop garden perched on a Victorian viaduct

Castlefield Viaduct, located in the Castlefield area of Manchester, now boasts a colourful flower garden that residents can enjoy for free. The viaduct closed in 1969 and stood unused, being regularly maintained by National Highways, but now takes a new form as a ‘sky garden’. TikTok account Petite.blondine helped shine light on the garden by sharing some of its highlights in a video that compared it to New York CIty’s High Line. The clip, entitled ‘Brilliant free things to do in the UK,’ detailed: ‘Did you know the UK now has it’s own version of the New York High Line?’ It continued: ‘You can find this hidden rooftop garden up a tower in Manchester.
