Dame Kelly Holmes has admitted she’s ‘terrified’ ahead of taking a huge step with her partner.
The Olympic legend has kept her romantic life largely out of the spotlight after coming out as gay aged 52.
In June last year, Dame Kelly revealed she realised she was gay when she was a soldier in the Women’s Royal Army Corps in 1988 at the age of 17, and kissed a female comrade, but had kept that part of herself hidden for 34 years out of fear of being prosecuted, since same-sex relationships were banned from the forces.
