Jurgen Klopp admits Liverpool are still missing ‘mentality monsters’ despite resurgence

Liverpool came from behind for the fourth time in six games against LASK in the Europa League, but Jurgen Klopp believes that his current side are not yet at the level of his past squads

Jurgen Klopp hasn’t quite started to believe he’s got his mentality monsters are back just yet – but he is loving the “crazy” options he now has at his disposal after a summer of transformation.

And the Liverpool manager is happy to admit that he doesn’t yet know just how big his new look side – Liverpool 2.0 as he now calls it – will become, but he is relishing the prospect of finding out as they embark on a journey of discovery together.

The Reds showed a real strength of character as they came from behind for the fourth time in six games this season, to record an important, hard-won victory in their first Europa League group game, against a lively LASK side in Linz.

And Klopp explained afterwards that his new look squad, which has a fresh-faced look to it after an injection of youth in the summer following the departure of many of the veteran stalwarts of his first great Liverpool squad, has a truly competitive mood about them.
