Months after telling Rory McIlroy where to go at a players meeting after the PGA Tour, LIV Golf and DP World Tour merger, Grayson Murray will be back on the Tour
Golf “bad boy” Grayson Murray has got his PGA Tour card back just months after telling Rory McIlroy to “f*** off” during a players meeting.
Murray is guaranteed a top-30 finish on the developmental Korn Ferry Tour, a position which will see the American regain his Tour card. The 29-year-old from North Carolina has won the AdventHealth Championship and Simmons Bank Open over the last four months to put himself back in the big time.
However, his antics on the course far outweigh his work with a club in hand. At last year’s US Open, Murray’s temper got the better of him as he threw his putter over the back of the green before snapping an iron over his knee during a frustrating final round at Brookline.
A month later, he was back in the headlines after walking off and withdrawing himself from the tournament at the Barbasol Championship with three holes remaining of his first round. These antics are also reminiscent of when Murray threw a golf ball out of frustration into the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club course’s lake, akin to a baseball pitcher, at the CIMB Classic in 2017.
