Families applying for power of attorney will soon be able to do it online under new rules intended to reform a system that is bogged down by chronic delays.
A lasting power of attorney (LPA) is a legal document that allows you to appoint someone to make decisions on your behalf. There are two types: property and financial, and health and welfare. But the application system has long been criticised as complicated and out of date.
