 Gail (Rachael Gill-Davis) has been harbouring a secret and it's about to blow a hole in her relationship with Ryan (James Moore) in Emmerdale. As was revealed on screen this week, many moons ago she had a secret baby – his baby. The barmaid did not raise said baby, and thus far Ryan has been unaware of his offspring's existence. But that all changed when a woman called Sophie got in touch with Gail. Sophie is the adoptive mother of Oscar, Gail and Ryan's son. Oscar was adopted when he was little and the reason for Sophie getting in touch was to ask Gail to help save her little boy's life. Oscar has a type of cancer and needs a stem cell transplant as part of his treatment. Sophie explained that she wants Gail to have a test to see if she could help Oscar. She also said that it would be best if Ryan had the test too, but Gail claimed that she wasn't in contact with him – which we know, of course, is a huge lie. It drives a huge wedge between them as Ryan finds himself struggling to look Gail in the eye over her betrayal and he has no desire to interact with their son. But Gail appeals to his better nature – they need to help Oscar and Ryan can't argue with wanting to help an innocent little boy. Gail hopes Ryan will help – but can he forgive her lies? (Picture: ITV) Ryan is reluctant but he ultimately agrees, though makes it quite clear that he refuses to reconcile with Gail over the weight of her betrayal.
