BBC journo asks entrepreneur if she’d considered starting a knitting business

A BBC reporter has been accused of being sexist after asking a successful entrepreneur if she wished she had started a knitting business.

Adam Shaw was talking to Kylie Aldridge, who runs transport and food businesses, about the current economic turbulence on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.

The business reporter asked: “Have you ever thought of opening a knitting business or something?

Kylie laughed awkwardly before saying: “Well, no.”

Shaw, 49, then added: “You’re going to stick with the tough decisions.”
