Scottish presenter Lorraine Kells announced on Thursday morning that she’s “taking a Twitter break” and added that “it’s all got a bit dark.” The 63-year-old posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, the following statement: “Morning. Having a twitter break – its all gone a bit dark – find me on instagram @lorrainekellysmith for mostly cute photos of my dog.” (sic) Many of her fans have flocked to the comments section to react to her post. One typed: “That’s a pity,” completed with a heart emoji. Another fan commented: “The light is still out here hun. …always here just look behind the [sun behind cloud emoji].” A third chimed in: “Will miss you.” A fourth person on the social media app replied: “Don’t blame you but it’s a shame that you need to.” Lorraine will return to her usual role on the chat show at 9am on ITV. Yesterday, she interviewed Family Fortunes icon Les Dennis about his upcoming gig on Strictly Come Dancing. He was joined with his pro partner Nancy Xu as they discussed their bid to lift the Glitterball Trophy and Lorraine couldn’t help but compliment Les’ age-defying appearance. “You just threw away there that you’re 70 next month. I can’t believe that. That’s ridiculous,” Lorraine said. Les Dennis speaking to Lorraine (Image: ITV) Les Dennis mentioned that he shares the same birthday as fellow celebrity Angela Rippon, who is also competing on Strictly Come Dancing with partner Kai Widdrington. Les replied: “Thanks. I don’t look 70 but I did once. Something like this re-energises you. “I keep getting challenges like a couple of years ago I did my first opera. When you’re given a new challenge, it gives you a new vitality. Anybody who is thinking I can’t do it at the age I’m at.” Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
