Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood shares his real thoughts on pairings amid exit hints

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood was back and ready to go for the 2023 series of the BBC show, amid recent hints he may quit his role in the near future

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has had his say on the brand new pairings as he returned to the BBC series, amid hints it might be one of his last stints on the show.

The judge shared his verdict on the new couples after they were announced during Saturday’s launch show. He joined his fellow panellists Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke as the celebrities took to the dance floor for the first time ahead of the competition kicking off. The 15 new contestants were waiting to find out which professional dance partner they would be paired up with.

Soon enough the couples were announced, and the judges were asked to give their thoughts. Craig left the audience and host Tess Daly amused as he shared his true feelings about the pairings ahead of their first performances next weekend. Initially asked what he was looking for, as Tess pointed out he had been on the show since the very start in 2004, Craig simply said “talent”.

Then, as all 15 pairs were announced, Craig was asked if he was happy with the couples. He confessed: “Are the couples making me happy? Well I am probably the happiest I am ever going to be because they haven’t danced yet! But I give the pairings 10 out of 10.” Tess mentioned Craig being the longest-serving judge on the show days after exit hints by the star.
