The victim is said to have been treated at a rape crisis centre on the same day as the alleged attack. It's alleged that she text him shortly after leaving his house and said she had been scared by him and felt taken advantage of, adding: "When a girl say[s] NO it means no." He alleged replied saying he was "very sorry". According to the Dispatches programme, she added: "I'm stuck underneath [a] painting and he's pushing up against me. [...] He's a lot taller than me. And he has that glazed look in his eye again. And I can't move. And I told him, 'Get off, get off.'" It's alleged that Russell pushed her up against the wall and raped her, without a condom. It's claimed that the alleged incident took place amid Russell's divorce from singer-songwriter Katy, now 38, which was granted in February 2012 but not finalised until July that year. Perry and Brand became legally single on July 14 because California law requires couples to wait at least six months after filing for divorce.
