Russell Brand’s country pub ‘locked down’ leaving locals baffled after rape allegations

A pub owned by Russell Brand appears to have gone into complete lockdown with large fencing installed around its perimeter after he denied allegations of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse

Russell Brand’s pub has been completely closed off to members of the public just one day after he faced a string of serious allegations.

The comedian and actor is accused of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse at the height of his fame. Channel 4’s Dispatches and The Sunday Times published the allegations over the weekend.

Four women are alleged to have come forward with claims, with the incidents taking place between 2006 and 2013. During this time Brand was a presenter on BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4 and starred in several Hollywood films. He recently shared a video statement denying ‘criminal’ and ‘very serious’ allegations, which he said had been put to him in the form of a letter and email from an unnamed television programme and newspaper.

But while Brand, 48, appeared to be keeping his headstrong on Saturday night as he took to the stage at The Troubador Theatre in Wembley – where he refused to address the claims, he’s now opting to keep a low profile. His pub, The Crown Inn in Pishill, Oxfordshire, is now under complete lockdown.
