Russell Brand set to perform comedy gig tonight after denying ‘criminal’ allegations

Russell Brand is due to perform a comedy set tonight after ‘absolutely denying’ serious allegations, which he says are a ‘litany of extremely aggressive attacks’

Russell Brand is set to perform a comedy gig in London tonight after denying serious allegations he says have been made against him.

The comedian, 48, hit the headlines yesterday when he refuted ‘criminal allegations’ ahead of tonight’s Channel 4 Dispatches show, which is said to highlight the behaviour of an A-lister – potentially destroying their career. Russell is yet to comment further on the allegations, but he is due to perform his stand-up comedy show, Bipolarisation at the Wembley Park Theatre in London this evening, as doors open at 5.30pm, while the show kicks off at 7pm.

The well-publicised gig is described as: “Rules and rule breaking! Democracy and freedom! We reach conclusions from mass confusion by polling the live audience. We want to hear YOUR opinion. After amassing a movement of 25 million people across his digital channels, the Community festival and the live show Stay Free; the cultural and political commentator and award-winning British comedian is back on stage.”

Russell has been on tour with the show all over the UK since August 17, including dates in Slough, Oxford and Henley. Plugging the gigs on his website, he said: “This is my website. I am a comedian. I am interested in change. I am interested in awakening – I feel we can do this together because I have changed so much in my own little life. I am still a comedian and I now do LIVE shows weekdays. Join my mailing list (I call it an elite cabal to make it more sexy).”
