Russell Brand took to YouTube last night insisting he denies ‘astonishing’ allegations against him ahead of tonight’s mystery Channel 4 Dispatches programme
Russell Brand admitted he has been “very promiscuous” in the past, but insisted all his relationships were consensual as he denied ‘serious allegations’ he says have been made about him.
The comedian, 48, took to YouTube last night ahead of tonight’s mystery Channel 4 Dispatches show, saying his ‘transparency regarding his promiscuity’ has been “metastasized into something criminal”. Claiming he had received a “litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks” regarding his behaviour, the Get Him to the Greek star â also known as Rusty Rockets â is now married to Scottish blogger Laura Gallacher, with whom he shares two children. However, the My Booky Wook star has dated a whole host of famous faces, including Geri Halliwell, Katy Perry and Kate Moss.
Russell said he was in awe of supermodel, Kate, during a brief fling with the mum-of-one in 2006. The comedian reckoned their short-lived affair was “like going out with the best-looking girl in school” after being introduced to Kate by fashion designer Sadie Frost. Writing in My Booky Wook, Russell said: “I was pinned to the wall with awe by Kate. When anything is near her, people want it â such is her aura. So you put me near her and it went nuts. I get on with the kiss, and I think it’s a good kiss, but of course all this analysis going on simultaneously. I’ve got to get her out the house. Ludicrously I say to her, ‘Do you want to come back to mine Kate Moss?'”
The couple reportedly split in June 2006 after getting together two months earlier. After writing about Kate in his book, Russell told Piers Morgan he was embarrassed for mentioning the catwalk queen in his memoir, conceding: “I didn’t know the rules of being famous. I hope she’s forgiven me. I think she will have but I’m a bit embarrassed that I spoke about it.”
