Aaron Rodgers given reality check over New York Jets playoff comeback plan

Aaron Rodgers’ ‘never say never’ approach to his Achilles tear recovery ahead of a potential playoff run has been dismissed with the quarterback needing a miracle

Aaron Rodgers gave New York Jets fans a glimmer of hope that they could see him again before the end of the 2023 campaign despite suffering a season-ending Achilles tear.

The 39-year-old played just four snaps in the 22-16 win over the Buffalo Bills on Monday before being carted off, loading the responsibility of leading the Jets’ offense back onto the shoulders of Zach Wilson.

The worst was then confirmed a couple of days after the game, before head coach Robert Saleh threw his weight behind 2021 No. 2 overall NFL Draft pick Wilson, insisting that the Jets are now the 24-year-old’s team.

Rodgers had surgery and is in recovery mode but he had time to take part in an interview on The Pat McAfee Show, where he was asked whether he could return for the playoffs, should the Jets get there for the first time in over a decade.
