Much was expected of Joe Burrow in Week 1especially after signing his new contract with the Cincinnati Bengals and now he is sporting a new hairstyle following last week’s tough loss
Joe Burrow has been spotted with a new haircut as he aims to put the Cincinnati Bengals’ miserable defeat behind him.
The quarterback was held to a career-low 82 yards passing in his team’s 24-3 opening day defeat to the Cleaveland Browns on Sunday. With the cut, Burrow returns to the shorter look that he has sported for most of his NFL career. During a press conference, he was asked by a reporter when he knew it was time to take a trip to the barbers.
The 26-year-old joked: “When you have a game like that on Sunday.” Later in his session with the media, another reporter asked if it was truly his motivation or if he was joking, to which Burrow responded: “A little of both.” Bengals fans hope the fresh cut will inspire Burrow to return to his best following the most disappointing performance of his career last weekend.
The 2022 Super Bowl runner-up completed just 45.16 percent of his passes on Sunday. He was taken out of the game during the fourth quarter after finishing 14 of 31 with a surprisingly long completion of just 12 yards. To exacerbate Burrow’s performance, he was sacked twice and failed to throw a pass that led to a touchdown. This is far below the standard he set last season. An average of 279.7 passing yards per game and a 68.3 percent percentage in the 2022/23 campaign earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl and a fourth place finish in MVP voting.
