Just hours after Nintendo dazzled gaming fans with more than 40 big gameplay reveals and announcements, Sony took to the stage for a massive State of Play event for September 2023. The PlayStation State of Play event kicked off with a rather bizarre looking game called Baby Steps , which launches in 2024. This was followed by confirmation that Roblox would make its PlayStation debut October 10, complete with cross-platform support. As a reminder, you can watch the entire presentation for yourself by clicking play on the YouTube embed below. Sony continued the State of Play event with a look at the PSVR 2 versions of Ghostbusters Rise of the Ghost Lord, Resident Evil 4 VR Mode and the free Resident Evil Mercenaries update coming on September 21. That’s on top of Separate Ways DLC starring Ada Wong. Avatar Frontiers of Pandora received a rather spectacular gameplay trailer, alongside confirmation of its December 7 release date. Ghostrunner 2 continues to impress ahead of its October release date, with Sony announcing that a demo is available to download today. Sony then unveiled three new PS5 covers and DualSense controllers as part of its “Deep Earth Collection”. Fans looking to jazz up their consoles can purchase Volcanic Red, Colbalt Blue and Sterling Silver covers, and gamepads. Helldivers 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 were both the subject of gameplay deep dives. Spider-Man 2 will contain a District Progress System, which is key to unlocking additional customisation options and abilities.
