Although there was some good Resident Evil 4 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth news the latest State Of Play had almost no new game announcements.
Sony warned in advance that Thursday night’s State of Play PlayStation 5 preview showcase would focus on third party and indie titles and while that was true almost all of them turned out to be games that have already been announced.
The only thing that was completely new was indie game Baby Steps which… looked awful? It seemed to be a physics-based game in the style of Human: Fall Flat or QWOP but where the main character walks like a baby, for some reason, and doesn’t use their arms except for balance.
The only other sort-of-new announcement was the Separate Ways expansion for Resident Evil 4. Although long expected, it’s never been confirmed until now but will be out on September 21 – alongside free Ada Wong and Wesker avatars for The Mercenaries mode.
Separate Ways was introduced in the PlayStation 2 version of the original Resident Evil 4 and has been a part of the experience ever since, as you play as anti-hero Ada Wong, instead of Leon.
