The Seattle Seahawks suffered an upset defeat to NFC West Rivals the LA Rams on the opening weekend of the NFL season and star wide receiver DK Metcalf has made a startling revelation
Seattle Seahawks star DK Metcalf admits he did not give “100 percent effort” during a Week 1 defeat to NFC West rivals the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
The Seahawks were widely expected to start the season with a win on home turf at Lumen Field, but they were routed 30-13, with the Rams outplaying them on both sides of the ball. QB Geno Smith was limited to just 112 passing yards and his post-game verdict was the Rams “wanted it more and played harder” than the Seahawks.
Metcalf did haul in three receptions for 47 yards and a touchdown, although his performance will mainly be remembered for a blindside hit on Rams defensive back Ahkello Witherspoon that resulted in a personal foul and rib and hip injuries. Metcalf could face a fine from the NFL in the coming days.
The 25-year-old admitted he did not give his best during the Seahawks’ disappointing season opener, and he has vowed to his teammates that he will not allow it to happen again.
